ALOHA House no. 3, Ponta Mamoli, Mozambique


Aloha is a small upmarket development with individual owned properties and situated only 20km from the SA border and 190km from the Pongola Game Reserve. You need a 4 wheel drive vehicle to reach Aloha.


This beautiful 5 bedroom - each with a Queen sized bed - (Four are sea facing) Bali style lodge is situated right on the beach with un-interrupted views of the ocean and white sandy beaches. 


The Lodge has a large open plan living area, fully equipped kitchen, large box freezer, two medium size fridges, micro wave, under counter oven, Reverse Osmosis water filter and sufficient trays to make your own ice as well as DSTV and a swimming pool.


The separate rooms (One queen size bed in each room) linked by wooden decks, are spacious, have a walk in closet, large shower area, toilet, wash basin and air conditioning in al bed rooms. Linen and one towel per person provided. Bring own beach towels


The two housekeepers, Emma and Rhodina, do the cleaning, dishes and make up beds but do not cook.  Working hours 7:00 to 15:00

(R60 compulsory Tip per person per day paid directly to them on departure).

Only children 12 years and older and a maximum of 10 people per booking.


Self-catering, bring your own food and drinks, toiletries including soap ext.

Fires allowed at the braai area, please bring your own wood and or charcoal.


No Pets Allowed.



Please keep in mind that our Game Reserve is a convenient halfway Sleep over for those who drive from Pretoria/ Johannesburg. 

Mvubu River Lodge is a well-priced option, fully catered, while Inyati Lodge is a perfect option for self-catering.

From July to October you can watch the magnificent social acrobatic play of the Humpback Whales from the comfort of your deck. These magnificent animals migrate from the Antarctic to give birth in the warmer waters of the Mozambique and RSA coast.

During November to March its Turtle nesting season and you can see either Leatherback or Loggerhead turtles coming out during the night to lay their eggs.

The entrance to the Maputo Elephant Reserve is only 30 minutes’ drive up North.



From the border post you take the new tar road going to Maputo, after about 8 km you turn right towards Ponta du Ouro and after 3km on that road, turn left off the tar road and travel along the powerline till you see the old two track road, cross over onto the old two track road, and continue towards Malongane.

Arriving at Malongane keep driving North, 6.5km further you will see a small board/sign “ALOHA” where you turn right, on top of the hill you enter through a boom gate, drive through, carry on and go up a very steep hill and on top turn towards your left and follow number 3 sign, take the cemented track on your left down towards the house.

At border you need:

Letter from bank if vehicle is under finance agreement

Vehicle insurance papers 

After formalities on SA side has been done the driver will take the vehicle through to the Mozambique side while the rest of the group can walk through to stamp their passports on the Mozambique side.

The driver can stamp passport which is towards the right as you stop on the MB side and then go to the opposite side to fill in the vehicle and other info. Always keep your vehicle locked and keys with you.


Important: Please make sure your passport is stamped.


You can obtain your Third Party Vehicle Insurance at the border, valid for 30 days.
